Name of Layout Bubby's_Suitcase

N scale railroad built in a Sampsonite suitcase made for my grandson who had limited floorspace for a train layout.
I took a $1 garage sale suitcase and designed a pass thru system to allow the train to use both halves of the case. That is something I had not seen before and felt the challenge was worth a try.

Making the tunnels was the first thing to accomplish and track laid on homosite board to test the results was next. After completeing that I built the sidings, loop around & over by the lake and connected it all with 6inch radius curves. Had to modify the loco to handle the tight radius but it works okay.

I next built the mountain out of blue insulation board shaped and hollowed out to use as storage for the trains & powerpack. Hinged it and latched it with a magnet to hold it closed when traveling. Just goes to show that you don't need a lot of money OR space to build and run a model train. It's all about having fun.......Mike
