Name of Layout Abingdon Branch of the N&W

My layout is presently under construction. It is a representation of the Abingdon Branch of the N&W from Abingdon VA running to White Top VA.
The Abingdon Branch of the N&W is unique in that you will not find any references to coal if you research the line. It was all about wood and wood related products. The line was photographed many times by O. Winston Link. I wanted to capture that "in the woods" feeling with the background. This led me to choose Backdrop Warehouse as the source for my backdrops.
We used backdrops from BackDrop Warehouse       Member - BackDrop Warehouse Customers

The backdrop may look washed out but this is due to lighting used for photography. Visually it is much darker. (note from BDWH)

The layout is somewhat like an invereted "G"", i.e., it's a point-to-point, walk-in style. There is a central island that represents Abingdon Virginia. Trains leave Abingdon and proceed around the room's walls to Damascus and White Top Virginia. White Top was the summit of the branch and approx. half-way to it's terminus in West Jefferson, North Carolina.

The layout is a work in progress. We set up ledgers with a laser level. I then installed hardboard for the backdrops. The backdrops are secured with sticky-back Velcro so we can move or remove them. Seams were glued with dry stick-glue which works very well. I had Home Depot match the sky color and we painted the top edge of the backdrop to match the sky. The photos show the benchwork being installed under the backdrops.
